About this flooring

What is it?

Carpet tiles are modular square or rectangular carpet pieces laid in a grid across a floor. Unlike broadloom carpet, individual tiles can be lifted and replaced — useful in schools, offices and hospitality where one damaged area does not mean replacing the whole room.

What it's made of

Typically a nylon or polypropylene pile bonded to a bitumen or PVC backing, usually 50 cm squares (though sizes vary). Tiles are fully adhered or sometimes laid with tackifier systems depending on the product and traffic level.

Why it's a good choice

They combine the warmth and acoustic benefits of carpet with commercial durability. Classrooms stay quieter, offices absorb footfall noise, and hospitality dining areas feel more comfortable than hard vinyl alone. Patterns and tonal mixes hide wear well in busy spaces.

Ideal for

  • Schools, colleges and nurseries
  • Offices and meeting rooms
  • Hospitality dining and lounge areas
  • Libraries and quiet study spaces
  • Commercial refurbishments needing acoustic control

Key benefits

Acoustic comfort

Reduces echo and footfall noise in open offices, classrooms and meeting rooms compared with hard flooring.

Modular replacement

A stained or worn tile can be swapped without refitting the entire floor — practical in schools and high-traffic commercial areas.

Design flexibility

Solid colours, textures and mixed-tone layouts — quarter-turn patterns and feature zones are common in modern commercial fits.

Works alongside vinyl

We fit clean transitions between carpet tiles and LVT or contract vinyl where dining, corridor and classroom zones meet.
