About this flooring

What is it?

Linoleum is a natural, resilient floor made from linseed oil, wood flour, cork dust and pigments on a jute backing. It comes in sheets and tiles, and has been used in schools, kitchens and commercial spaces for decades.

What it's made of

Around 90% natural raw materials — linseed oil, cork, wood flour, resins and mineral fillers. The colour runs through the material, so wear does not expose a different layer underneath like printed vinyl.

Why it's a good choice

It is naturally antibacterial, biodegradable and hard-wearing. Through-colour means scratches are less obvious. For clients who want a sustainable, low-VOC option in schools, clinics or kitchens, linoleum is a solid choice.

Ideal for

  • Schools and education
  • Kitchens and food prep areas
  • Eco-conscious commercial projects
  • Healthcare and clinics
  • Spaces needing low-VOC materials

Key benefits

Natural composition

Made from renewable materials — a genuine alternative to PVC vinyl for eco-conscious projects.

Through-colour durability

Scuffs and wear do not reveal a different colour underneath because pigment runs through the tile.

Naturally antibacterial

Linseed oil gives linoleum natural resistance to bacteria — useful in kitchens and clinical spaces.

Long service life

Properly installed and maintained, linoleum lasts decades in commercial settings.
